A resident of southwestern Greenwood let her Yorkie out into the backyard one morning this week, and a coyote snatched the small dog up about 30 seconds later.
The fast-moving predator left behind nothing but muddy paw prints on the fence, Greenwood Police Department Assistant Chief Matt Fillenwarth said.
Coyote attacks on small pets have been continuing in Greenwood, and three have happened in the past few weeks in the Clearbrook Lakes addition and other neighborhoods in the southwestern area of the city, Fillenwarth said.
