INDIANAPOLIS
Bryce Platfoot had a chance to win the game in regulation. He didn’t miss out when he got another chance in overtime.
The Franklin junior missed a long 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation, but scored on an offensive rebound putback with 0.8 seconds left in OT to help the visiting Grizzly Cubs to a 50-48 victory against Perry Meridian on Tuesday night.
The Cubs improved to 13-5 after finishing a stretch with three losses in four games.
But even with the win, coach Jerry Bomholt is still looking for the team to stop a trend.
“This is the third game in a row now we’ve had the lead and failed to understand what we have to do with the lead,” Bomholt said.
The teams combined for six turnovers in the last two minutes of regulation and in overtime.
