A cement block foundation is the only indication that a house is being built on Franklin’s Circle Drive.
But Roberta Stephens can already picture her new home.
Her youngest son will have his own bedroom. Her other two children can visit and stay in the guest bedroom. She can sit on the front porch and watch people walking by. In the corner of the yard, she could plant a small garden.
Stephens will become the 10th person to receive a house from Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County. When the build is completed in late October, she finally will be able to move out of her parents’ small apartment in Franklin and into the first house she’s owned by herself.
