The Johnson County Animal Shelter will have a Halloween party for pets and their owners.
Scaretoberfest is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the shelter, 2160 Graham Road, Franklin.
Events include a Halloween costume contest at noon for dogs and cats. A contest for pet owners who looks most like their pets will be at 12:30 p.m. Call 736-3924 to preregister.
Prizes include gift certificates for free groomings.
Also at the event, owners can walk dogs around the shelter grounds and get a tour of the shelter. Pet owners can get free animal identification tags made.
Refreshments and candy will be available.
During the party, adoption fees will be waived for select cats and dogs.
