Franklin veterans are asking for the community’s help to prepare Greenlawn Cemetery for Memorial Day.
The public is invited to meet May 25 at the cemetery to help place flags on the graves of veterans. Volunteers are needed to help with the honor, organized by American Legion Post 205 in Franklin every Memorial Day weekend.
Residents are asked to meet at 10 a.m. at the cemetery office off of South Street. The American Legion will conduct a small program with rifle volley and taps performed by a bugler.
Then flags will be distributed to the volunteers to place on the graves of military veterans.
The service is open to all. Any questions can be directed to Bryon Thompson at 443-1183 or Larry Bundy at 736-3680.
