After falling more than a year behind her classmates, the college-bound 17-year-old is now working to graduate early.

Katie Hall has been taking high school courses for three years, but right now she has two years’ worth of credits. She’s enrolled in Franklin’s Finish Strong program and hopes to earn her diploma before next spring.

Hall, who attended Center Grove schools from seventh through ninth grades, left the school district her sophomore year to enroll in a group home-school program. Hall left the home-school program and returned to Center Grove at the start of this school year after more than a year away but found that none of the home-school credits she’d earned would transfer.
