WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue’s men’s basketball team used hot shooting and a balanced attack to win its first-round game Wednesday in the College Basketball Invitational.
Four players, led by A.J. Hammons with 15 points, scored in double-figures as the Boilermakers beat visiting Western Illinois 81-67.
Purdue (16-17) will face Santa Clara (22-11) in a quarterfinal game Monday night. The time and site of the game are to be announced.
