For parts of different decades, Greenwood boys basketball coach Bruce Hensley has had a positive impact on his school’s athletics department.

Growing up in a three-bedroom house on Carroll Drive, Hensley attended Northeast Elementary School during the height of the Beatles era. He was a three-sport standout for the Woodmen in the early 1970s.

Tuesday’s game at Perry Meridian (sadly, a 74-52 loss) signaled the beginning of Hensley’s 25th season as Greenwood’s boys basketball coach, an achievement that to date has spawned 230 career victories and two sectional championships.
