Police arrested an Indianapolis man after they say he led them on a 20-mile pursuit.
Joseph M. Poe, 25, was arrested Sunday on charges of fleeing from police in a vehicle, driving without ever receiving a license and driving while intoxicated.
The incident started when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a southbound driver for going 90 mph on Interstate 65 near Greenwood, where the speed limit is 70 mph, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
The driver sped up to 104 mph, according to the report. The officer then told the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office that the car was not stopping, and officers set up stop sticks that deflated the vehicle’s tires, according to the report.
