You know those countdown calendars that tell you how many days it is until Christmas, your birthday, New Year’s Day or some other milestone event?
I have one of those that tracks great times for sports fans.
Mine just turned to zero.
There is no other way to look at this mid-October moment, with high school football and volleyball playoffs ready to start, the American League and National League baseball titles up for grabs, and college basketball ready to emerge from hibernation.
