A forensic scientist testified that Shawn Corbally was the source of DNA recovered from the victim of a brutal rape in Greenwood, and that both his and the victim’s DNA were found on a pair of camouflage cargo shorts that police took from his duffel bag.
Prosecutor Brad Cooper argued during the second day of trial that DNA evidence proved that Corbally repeatedly raped a mother of two after entering her Greenwood apartment in July.
Indiana State Police Crime Lab forensic scientist Robert Dilley told jurors that DNA samples taken from the victim matched Corbally’s DNA profile. Tests at the crime lab in downtown Indianapolis showed that Corbally’s DNA was on four different swabs that a nurse at Community Hospital South took from the victim shortly after the rape.
