The 120-year-old house on Broadway Street in Greenwood formerly had a beauty salon in its front room, an apartment upstairs, warped floors throughout and a foundation that had settled.
Libby Cruzan and David Schippnick saw the home as a project to tackle and a way to personalize where they live. They ripped out water-damaged floors, replaced sections of the brick foundation, tore out walls, redid the plumbing and electrical wiring and added on to the back of the house.
“We wanted to have a nice house that we were going to live in for a long time. Yet, we still like the character of the old home,” Schippnick said.
