Edinburgh coach Bill Unsworth is used to dealing with pain, as he sits out the early part of the Lancers’ football season.
But the worst of his discomfort last Friday night had nothing to do the incision in his neck following the successful removal of a benign tumor earlier in the week.
Instead, it was the pain he felt after learning running back Steven Bailey was rushed to the hospital with serious internal injuries in Edinburgh’s opening game at Manual.
“The worst part of it was after the game when they told me about Steve Bailey,” said Unsworth, who learned of the injury from one of his coaches. “His parents didn’t want to bother me.”
