Coach Bill Unsworth couldn’t think of a better way for the Edinburgh football team to match its most wins in 17 seasons than the way the Lancers did it Friday night against visiting Southside Home School.
Senior quarterback Sammy Wilkerson passed for 214 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score, and the Lancers’ defense forced four turnovers during a 49-13 win on homecoming night.
Southside Home School is a non-IHSAA member that was playing against only its second varsity opponent this season.
“We performed the way we should have tonight,” said Unsworth, whose team improves to 4-3. “It’s another win and it feels good, but we have two more games left to focus on before sectionals.”
