Considering that the November elections are upon us, I am not surprised that political magazines like Newsweek on the left and National Review on the right are filled with articles concerning the upcoming political races.
Even publications that aren’t strictly dedicated to politics from Esquire to People to Martha Stewart Living are finding ways to work election-themed content into their most current issues.
So I wasn’t surprised when I shuffled through our stack of mail, opened a magazine and discovered an article which sought to help me determine whether I was a conservative, moderate, progressive or independent — runner, that is.
Bob Cooper, the author of “What Kind of Runner Are You?” in the November issue of Runner’s World, doesn’t categorize us according to our position on taxes, immigration or foreign policy. (Thank goodness for that. One reason I run is to get outdoors in the fresh air and clear my head of such stuff.)
