To the editor:
I was pleased to see your article on the new animal shelter on Graham Road (“Fewer animals killed, new cat program considered,” Aug. 13) because I just visited there two weeks ago and chose a beautiful snowshoe Siamese cat.
The shelter is immaculate, and the help is very friendly. It is a busy place where I saw a police officer bringing in a stray dog, a couple reclaiming a stray dog they had previously turned in, and a family choosing a beautiful dog and walking him on a leash outside while becoming acquainted with him.
We were allowed a small private room to get acquainted with the first cat we checked out (who didn’t want anything to do with us). We chose another cat and went back to see if it was friendlier, and it jumped right up in my lap.
