Letter: Collective indifference led to agency’s closing

To the editor:

Another chapter about our collective indifference was highlighted on the front page recently (“Lack of donations forces agency helping homeless to close doors,” July 13).

Johnson County is one of the top 10 counties in the state for household income and personal wealth. Is this just another hallmark of our self-righteous selfishness, or are we sending a deeper message — that certain people should get out of our well-to-do county? Either way, shame on Johnson County.
