To the editor:
The Feb. 1 edition of the Daily Journal describes an investment scam that has defrauded several Johnson County residents of $1.6 million. What is most shocking is that at least two of the victims of this scam are (or were) Johnson County commissioners.
It is frightening to think that someone gullible or stupid enough to think that they can earn 18 percent interest or double their money in a year is, also, holding an office that is charged with managing the money of Johnson County’s taxpayers.
Maybe the Johnson County Republican Committee needs to take a closer look at the people they support for county offices on their ticket.
