Letter: Founding Fathers would be disappointed today

To the editor:

I know that our Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves. I am amazed, dismayed and all of the above.

It seems the Democrats have a hard time deciding whether they believe in God or not.

I’m not a Democrat, but I am embarrassed for them. First, they deliberately left God out of their agenda. Then, after the public outrage, we were treated to the spectacle of the sham vote to bring God back into their agenda.

I cannot believe that there was even a need to discuss the issue. Even the president, in an act of political desperation, tried to order them to bring God back.

It seems the Democrats are reluctant to acknowledge our heritage. We, as a nation, were founded on principles derived from the word of God.

I’m an American and I believe in the Pledge of Allegiance. We are one nation under God. Let no politicians try to take that away.
