To the editor:

After reading Bill Cruser’s letter “Retain local members of Republican Party” (Daily Journal, Feb. 22), I have to confess I actually spent a few minutes trying to figure out what my candidacy for chairman of the Johnson County Republican Party had to do with a previous letter to the editor, an unnamed shooting and the prosecutor’s office (where I am proud to have served the people of Johnson County as a deputy prosecutor for 10 years now).

Luckily, I quickly remembered that this sort of tired old nonsense is exactly why I decided to run in the first place.

We Republicans need to spend less time marginalizing each other with idiotic paranoid delusions and more time focusing on the positive Republican message of empowering people instead of the government.
