To the editor:
A great big heart to the wonderful man who runs the produce stand in front of Pennington’s mobile home park on U.S. 31.
On July 13, my husband and I were going to go to some yard sales. As I was about to pull out onto U.S. 31, I began to have severe chest pain. Since I don’t have a cellphone, I didn’t know what to do. I managed to put the car in park, and my husband ran to the produce stand for help. This angel called an ambulance for me and stayed by my car until I was on my way to the hospital.
I was taken to three different hospitals before being admitted to Indiana Heart Hospital on Indianapolis’ northside. There I had open heart surgery, was in a coma for eight days and came home on the 10th day. Every other day I have therapy. I’m still not 100 percent, but each day, I get stronger.
Had it not been for this wonderful man, I wouldn’t be here today. I want to thank him and to thank God for giving me a second chance.
