Letter: Local media shunned Witnesses’ convention

To the editor:

The media of Indianapolis and central Indiana missed a wonderful opportunity to report on a beautiful convention held at Lucas Oil Stadium — the International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses, July 11 to 13. Over 32,000 people came from Indiana and surrounding states as well as several European countries to associate together and be taught from the Bible how to keep seeking first God’s Kingdom and how to use God’s Word to handle all sorts of everyday personal and family matters.

These delegates were polite, well-dressed, happy and generous. What a refreshing example of humanity. The Lucas Oil Stadium staff, members of the Indianapolis police department, and many downtown merchants all expressed their pleasure serving this peaceable group, and yet barely a blip of publicity for this outstanding event.

Good people deserve publicity. Jehovah’s Witnesses deserve better than what they received.
