A county council member and other local officials want the county to take another look at a local income tax increase to help pay for a combined emergency dispatch center.
But the county council turned down the possibility of a tax increase in September, and other council members still think a tax hike should be a last resort.
Local government, police and fire officials asked council members to once again consider looking at an income tax increase as a method to help pay for an estimated $3.5 million per year needed to run a consolidated dispatching center in the county.
