When their school went on lockdown because of bomb threats, student journalists tore up their front page and started again two days before deadline.
Newspaper staff members at Greenwood Community High School also localized state issues, writing about peers and teachers who had connections to the Henryville tornado and the Indiana State Fair stage collapse.
Their efforts and a year’s worth of work putting out a biweekly newspaper helped The Timberlines staff win the Quill and Scroll International first-place award.
