A Camby man was arrested early Sunday morning after police said he drank alcohol and then drove past a barricade onto a flooded road with two children in his car.

Nicholas Fortinberry, 25, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated with prior conviction.

Police said he got his vehicle stuck in floodwaters on Fairview Road, near Leisure Lane, and later couldn’t get the car to start. Fortinberry’s two children, both younger than age 3, were with him in the vehicle, according to a police report.
