Man hurt in accident near I-65 interchange

One man was injured in an accident at Interstate 65 and State Road 44 in Franklin on Friday afternoon.

The accident happened about 3:45 p.m. when a pickup collided with a truck pulling a camper that was getting onto I-65, Franklin Police Sgt. Edgar Lucas said.

Two people in the truck pulling the camper were not injured. The driver of the pickup, who had to be removed from his vehicle, was transported to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, Franklin Fire Department Capt. Matt Culp said. Culp did not know the extent of the man’s injuries.

The accident knocked the camper on its side, and police were at the scene for hours after the accident, Lucas said.

Names of all those involved in the accident were not available Friday afternoon.
