More than 40 people crashed their vehicles or slid off local roads after five inches of snow fell in the county starting Tuesday afternoon.
Morning rain turned to snow around 4 p.m. Tuesday, just before rush hour, with most of the snow falling before 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service Indianapolis District. The weather service recorded five inches of snow in Johnson County.
Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson schools were closed Wednesday, while the other five county schools districts called for two-hour delays.
