The upcoming Worthsville Road project will transform a major road on Greenwood’s south side and include several firsts.
Greenwood will get its first road that features a tree-lined median. The city is making its first attempt to build a boulevard, instead of just a bigger street. And the city’s first stand-alone trailhead will be built at the site of a former concrete plant, where people could park to use walkways that will run along both sides of the road.
The goal is to make Worthsville Road a new entrance into the city, and officials are focusing on the smallest details to make the area attractive to visitors coming off a new Interstate 65 exit.
