A former nursery on the south side of Franklin used to offer plants for sale each year, but now it’s become an annual job for the city to mow and trim the remaining trees and bushes.

The nursery at U.S. 31 and Nineveh Road has been out of business for years, but the plants continue to grow each year.

So when the grass gets high and the trees and bushes grow too tall, Franklin street department workers mow and trim and the city sends a bill to the owner.
