This week’s picks column is dedicated to the good folks at Marshall University, who by playing Purdue this weekend is lining up against an Indiana school in football for the first time since 2002 (a 38-14 Thundering Herd victory against Ball State).

It’s the first ever meeting between the programs. And since there is no Randy Moss, Chad Pennington or Byron Leftwich suiting up in green and white on Saturday, the Boilers take the field as prohibitive favorites.

Notre Dame, Michigan and the Indianapolis Colts are enjoying a week off, so I’m forced to predict three NFL games involving local franchises to keep things interesting. Lions, and Bengals and Bears, oh, my.
