Dr. David Fisher, an OrthoIndy surgeon at Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital, has provided free knee replacements to two patients as part of Operation Walk USA.

Operation Walk USA is an independent medical charitable organization that provides all aspects of knee and hip replacement treatment — surgery, hospitalization and pre-and post-operative care — at no cost to patients who don’t qualify for government assistance, are uninsured or cannot otherwise afford the procedure.

Operation Walk USA is a volunteer effort on behalf of more than 120 volunteer orthopedic surgeons and 70 participating hospitals in 32 states. Fisher participated for the second year this fall.
