Fourth of july Events

Trying to decide what to do for the holiday? Here is a look at where you can celebrate the Independence Day:

Peoga Fourth of July parade

When: 2 p.m.; visitors can start lining up at 1 p.m.

What: Community parade, featuring children on decorated bicycles, local residents, antique cars and church floats

Where: The quarter-mile route starts at Mount Olive United Methodist Church, winds around Brock & Brock’s General Store and back to storage buildings on the south side of the town. To reach Peoga from the north, follow Johnson County Road 250W south from County Road 750S, or take County Road 125W south from County Road 750S.

Edinburgh Firecracker Festival

When: 5 p.m. to dark

What: The festival includes kids games, a home-run derby, water balloon fest, pie-eating contest and fireworks show.

Where: Sports complex, 722 S. Eisenhower Drive

Downtown Freedom Blast

When: All day, fireworks at 10 p.m.

What: Food (including craft beer garden on the Circle), music and fun downtown lasts all day and ends with fireworks shot from the top of the Regions Bank Tower.

Where: Downtown Indianapolis
