An Edinburgh man was arrested Tuesday after police said he repeatedly punched a woman and knocked out her tooth.

Jhirmack L. Dawson, 32, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery. A woman told police he argued with her about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and then punched her in the thighs, according to a police report. She told police he also shoved her into closed doors, and she threw a shoe at him, according to a police report.

The woman’s brother tried to stop the fight, but Dawson punched her on the right side of her face, the report said.
