Police look into incident involving jail worker’s gun

Police are investigating whether someone fired a weapon that belonged to a Johnson County correctional officer during an altercation outside a southside home last month.
The incident took place on
Dec. 4 outside a home where Johnson County jail officer Robert Stockton had been living. Stockton was training in Franklin at the time, Johnson County jail commander Duane Burgess said.
Norman Wessel, 20, was arrested on a charge of battery. Police believe a gun was used during the altercation, according to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
