When Indianapolis emergency workers went to community events, Pvt. Tim McCormick often was there, answering questions and demonstrating CPR.
McCormick, 24, of Greenwood, worked as an emergency medical technician for Indianapolis EMS. His involvement in community events, including health fairs and educational events, was known among his co-workers and supervisors. They described him as compassionate.
McCormick and Spc. Cody Medley, 22, a paramedic, suffered fatal injuries after a car struck the ambulance they were in. McCormick was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident early Saturday, and Medley died at Wishard Memorial Hospital on Sunday.
