Ready to attack: Grizzly Cubs still developing in coach’s third season

The summer of 2010 is viewed as one of transition for the Franklin Community High School volleyball team.

It was then that a young head coach brimming with fresh strategies and perspectives entered the picture. The turnaround would be slow, however, as the Grizzly Cubs dropped their first six matches en route to an 11-19 record.

“Coming into that season we had no seniors, so I knew it would be difficult. There’s always doubt when you start 0-6,” third-year coach Chris Due, 33, recalled. “There were definitely a lot of questions going through my mind.

“But I knew we were going to benefit, and that second year we were much better.”
