There was a time when the entire football-watching universe basically held its breath in anticipation of the annual showdown between Michigan and Notre Dame.
This is not that time.
Cable television, satellite dishes and the like have widened our Saturday menus so much that discussion of golden domes and winged helmets run the risk of being little more than a brief rest area en route to some other game.
My advice: Stay and remain tuned.
The past four match-ups between the Irish and Wolverines have been decided by a total of 19 points. Notre Dame won in 2012 by a score of 13-6, Michigan the three contests previous to that.
