The Whiteland Road entrance to Maple Grove Elementary School in the Center Grove area will be closed for about two weeks as part of a road project.
Starting on Monday, all school traffic will have to use the Saddle Club Road entrance to get in and out of the school, according to an announcement from project engineer Crossroad Engineers.
Johnson County is doing construction on Whiteland Road between the school entrance and State Road 135. Workers will lay down new asphalt on that section of road late next week or early the first week of October.
Whiteland Road will remain open to local traffic, but the railroad tracks will be a dividing line. Residents who live west of the railroad tracks should take Saddle Club Road, while residents who live east of the tracks will have to use State Road 135, as they can now.
If weather permits, Crossroad Engineers hopes to reopen both the school entrance and Whiteland Road in two weeks, according to the announcement.
