Daily Journal staff reports

A Trafalgar woman was trapped in her vehicle after it slid over the center line and struck a snowplow in Franklin on Tuesday.

Three vehicles were damaged in the accident, and traffic was backed up on Franklin’s west side due to the wreck. No one was injured, despite the amount of damage in the collision, Franklin police Lt. Kerry Atwood said.

Cassandra S. Russell, 46, was driving on Westview Drive, north of State Road 44, when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle on the icy roadway, according to the accident report. Her vehicle crossed the center line and struck an oncoming Franklin city snowplow, driven by Andrew S. Duckworth, 48, Franklin.

Another vehicle traveling behind Russell, driven by James H. Stahl- hut, 62, Franklin, swerved to avoid the crash and struck a guardrail on the east side of the road.

The accident happened at 7:21 a.m. and caused a traffic backup along State Road 44 and State Road 144.
