Center Grove schools has a new board member after a monthlong search.

School board members unanimously approved naming Adam Norman as the newest member, and he was sworn in Thursday. Norman was selected from a group of five finalists to replace board member Susan Mullendore, who died in February after a battle with cancer.

Norman was one of 19 Center Grove residents who were considered to replace Mullendore. Board member Jack Russell said Norman was selected for his legal background and his experience advocating for children.

Norman spent 14 years as a deputy prosecutor in the child support divisions for Tippecanoe and Bartholomew counties and currently works as a senior manager for the Child Support Bureau in Indianapolis.
