Purdue will play its first College Basketball Invitational game in school history when its hosts Western Illinois at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
A Boilermakers victory would set up another home game, this time a CBI quarterfinal matchup against the winner of the first-round game between Santa Clara and Vermont.
Purdue, which has a 15-17 overall record, was the second-best rebounding team in the Big Ten with an average of 39.3 a game, which was 5.3 more than opponents.
