Jordyn Francis is a goal-oriented athlete. In fact, her main goal this year lots of goals — 30, to be precise.
A senior forward on the Whiteland girls soccer team, Francis already has scored 28 goals this season, shattering the school record (22), which she set herself as a sophomore.
With one regular-season match remaining for the Class 2A Warriors, Francis still has a chance to exceed her own expectations.
“I really want to hit 30-plus,” she said. “And I think I’m going to do it.”
But Francis’ desire to score isn’t based on cementing her legacy in the record books, she said. Rather, it’s to boost Whiteland’s chances for a lengthy postseason run. Enjoying one of their best seasons in team history, the Warriors are 10-2.
