A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was arrested after police said he downloaded multiple videos and images of child pornography.
Benjamin Farson, 29, of 1709 Honey Lane, Apt. 9, Greenwood, was arrested and charged with six counts of child exploitation involving possession of child pornography, a Greenwood Police Department report said.
He has been fired from his job as a Marion County deputy, according to a news release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He had worked as a deputy for three years and was working at the Arrestee Processing Center in Indianapolis during the investigation.
Greenwood police have investigators look online for images of child pornography and, if those images are found locally, police try to find the source, Assistant Chief Matthew Fillenwarth said.
