Police are looking for a way to stop late-night parties at a Center Grove area golf course after multiple shots were fired early Saturday, and one person was injured.
Between 12 and 20 shots were fired by two or three people after a party in the banquet hall at Walnut Ridge golf course, in the 1800 block of Morgantown Road. Police were called to the golf course at about 1:40 a.m., and saw multiple vehicles leaving, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
Security officers who were working at the party told sheriff’s deputies that two people fired the shots from the parking lot, and a third person may have fired from a vehicle as they left. One of the bullets went through the window of the golf club’s pro shop. A woman was treated by emergency workers for a cut to the head by either a bullet that grazed her head, or broken glass from the vehicle she was sitting in, the report said.
