Between 1997 and 2009, the Edinburgh Community High School football team won a combined six games.
One of those wins was a forfeit.
But beginning in 2010, coach Bill Unsworth’s first year on the job, the Lancers’ fortunes began to improve.
Although Edinburgh hasn’t completely, or even halfway, turned a competitive corner, it is clearly heading in the right direction. The Lancers were 4-6 last season, their best finish since 1995, and have won a combined eight games on Unsworth’s brief watch.
But Unsworth isn’t satisfied. Far from it.
