Trojans going to Evansville for semistate

Forgive the Center Grove boys soccer team if its players seem overly eager for this weekend’s IHSAA Class 2A semistate at Evansville Harrison.

Chances for redemption rarely come around so soon.

After dropping last year’s semistate semifinal 3-0 against Columbus North, the No. 4 Trojans are primed to play No. 2 Evansville Memorial in a semifinal match at 1 p.m. Saturday.

And if Center Grove wins, it will have a chance to play for what would be its first-ever semistate title at 7 p.m. against the winner of the other semifinal match between No. 6 Columbus North and No. 18 Cathedral.
