The state is asking people who received a letter from Americans for Limited Government to disregard it.
Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson has received complaints from voters about the letter, which includes what appears to be neighborhood voting records, according to a news release from the state.
The letter lists the recipient’s name, address and voting records for 2008, 2010 and 2012. It also lists neighbors of the individual and their voting record. Voters who contacted the office about the letters said the information included was incorrect, according to the release.
Indiana law restricts access of voting records to state political parties and legislative caucuses. Records are available at county voter registration offices, the release said.
