You can learn how to be a storm spotter in advance of the 2013 tornado season.
The National Weather Service and the Johnson County Emergency Management agency will conduct a severe storm spotter training session from 7 to 9 p.m. March 18.
The session is free and open to the public and will be at the Johnson County Emergency Operations Center, 1111 Hospital Road, Franklin.
A meteorologist will describe cloud and wind patterns associated with severe weather, and how to interpret radar data and remain safe during severe weather.
