What a difference a year makes.
At this time last spring, temperatures neared 70, skies were blue, sunshine reigned and golf traffic was heavy.
Today, temps are near freezing, skies are gray, sunny days rare and golfers scarce.
But area golf course managers aren’t complaining. Not too loudly, at least.
Although the lingering stretch of cold, wet weather has discouraged play, it has done wonders to restore health to greens and fairways that were savagely parched during the historic drought of 2012.
