Five iPads found in a creek this week likely were part of a batch of 11 stolen from a Center Grove school over the summer, a school spokeswoman said.
Jeffrey Paton reported that his son, Spencer Paton, 12, found the devices with cases Sunday in a creek in the Carefree subdivision in the Center Grove area, near where they live. His son previously found three iPads while fishing in the creek in late July and gave those to police, according to police reports.
Sometime between July 4 and 18, 10 iPads were stolen from a locked case at Center Grove Elementary School. An 11th iPad that belonged to a staff member also was stolen. Each device had a label that said it belonged to Center Grove schools.
